Van H. Wanamaker of Suffern passed away peacefully on June 11, 2017, surrounded by his daughters. He was born on September 22, 1937, to Harry and Gladys Auryansen Wanamaker.

Van formerly owned Eastern Auto Body and an office building in Monsey. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, baseball and football. In his early years, Van loved to ski and spend time at Lake George.

Van was predeceased by his parents and siblings, June Adduce, James M. Wanamaker, Harriet Kostanty and Lois DeGioia. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Tom)...

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Tom) Mahoney and Patricia (Mark) Nassivera, grandchildren, Daniel Nassivera, Shannon Mahoney, Thomas Van Mahoney, and his brother, Carlyle (Alice) Wanamaker and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 6:15 that evening. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY or The Willows at Ramapo Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Suffern, NY.
