Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and raised in Rockland County, Tard found a passion for cooking in the routine of helping his mother and grandmother cook Caribbean cuisine at home. This led to his first job at the food chain, Denny's. There, Tard learned more about the restaurant industry and his own talent. He soon left Denny's to attend SUNY buffalo state where he created and sold his own meals amongst students.
In 2001, Tard returned to Rockland and found his way back to the kitchen. He got the chance to flex his creative muscles at Restaurant Blu. Tard got the opportunity he'd been waiting for. He worked with Chefs Michael Coletti and his best friend, Brian Lacayo, to create a menu for the restaurant VB3 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Of all his cooking experiences, perhaps most memorable are the ribs and wings Tard has prepared for friends and family.
Tard was also known for his passion for music. If he wasn't in the kitchen he was playing records and mixing music. It was his love of music that connected him to Annette Myrie. in 2008, They Married and in 2009 they welcomed their son, Taj.
Tard brought warm bellies and warm hearts wherever he went. He was a loving father and husband who always shared his passion and joy with his family. He is survived by his wife, Annette, and two children Taj and Tayah. He will be sadly missed by friends and family alike.
