Andrew Yaroschak of Suffern, NY and Hudson, FL passed peacefully away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the age of 92. Up until his last breath his strength and determination was amazing. His niece Cathi was by his side since July 4th, fighting for him, encouraging him, laughing and crying with him, listening to his stories and secrets (sometimes hearing TMI), making sure all his bills were paid on time and getting his weekly church envelopes in, let us not forget being yelled at by him and finally in his last moments telling him it...

Andrew Yaroschak of Suffern, NY and Hudson, FL passed peacefully away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the age of 92. Up until his last breath his strength and determination was amazing. His niece Cathi was by his side since July 4th, fighting for him, encouraging him, laughing and crying with him, listening to his stories and secrets (sometimes hearing TMI), making sure all his bills were paid on time and getting his weekly church envelopes in, let us not forget being yelled at by him and finally in his last moments telling him it was time to grab onto Babas hand and go with her; Cathi is 4-ever grateful for the memories embedded in her heart! Andrew was born to Joseph and Anastasia Yaroschak on December 11, 1923 in Czechoslovakia. Andrew was a WWII war veteran serving for the US Navy aboard the USS Lexington where he earned a bronze star. Andrew was a proud member of the Suffern VFW Post 2973 and American Legion Post 859. Andrew graduated with a bachelor degree from the University of Michigan and was an active member of the alumni association. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Joyce Kilmer Council #1177. Andrew was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Church in Suffern.
Andrew was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, he will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. Andrew was the beloved son of Joseph and Anastasia (Baba) Yaroschak. Andrew was the cherished brother to Mary Robinson (Ralph), Anne Cobelli (Daniel), Helen Sessions (James), and Joseph Yaroschak (Carol). Andrew was the caring uncle of Diane McLaren (Malcolm), Kenneth Robinson (Linda), Daniel Cobelli, Robert Cobelli (Regina), Cathi Nyemchek (John), Rhonda Arezza (Steven), James Sessions (Jessica), David Sessions (Jennifer), Joseph Yaroschak, Mary Schwalbe (Michael), and Gloria Gray. Andrew was the great uncle to Noel, Ricky, Christine, Noah, Dawn, Dana, Michele, Robert, Jamie, John, Joshua, Joseph, Cali, Steven, Miki, Jade, David, Scott, and Sabine. Andrew was the great great uncle to Alexa, Nicole, Samantha, Jillian, Eva, Reillie, Jaxon, Sophia, Katie and Mason.
Visitation for
Andrew with his family will be held on Monday, September 19th, 2016 from 4-8PM at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 20th, 10AM at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern, NY with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
